  • What to expect for your initial evaluation

    • During a physical therapy evaluation, the therapist first conducts a thorough assessment of the patient’s medical history and current condition. This typically includes a discussion about symptoms, limitations, and goals for therapy.

  • What should I wear?

    • It is best to wear loose fitting clothing to your appointments. It is helpful if we can see and palpate the area of injury/pain

  • Do I need a prescription to begin physical therapy?

    • In New York State, if you don't have a script you can still be seen by a physical therapist, but after 30 days or 10 visits, a script will be required for additional appointments.

  • What insurances do we accept?
    • We accept Medicare and nearly all commercial insurances.

  • What should I bring to the evaluation?
    • Script

    • Insurance card

    • Valid photo ID

    • List of medications

    • A drive to get better

  • What exercises should I do after my evaluation?

    • The PT will prescribe you home exercises based on the findings of your evaluation.

  • What is the goal of physical therapy?

    • The goal of physical therapy is to promote independence and give you the tools to get back to the things you want to do.
